You are about to be someone whose mind is a park on a Sunday

Haribol!

Welcome to Jaime Jesus Borlagdan's primary page on blogger. Here you will find doors to his other more specific pages concerning his works in poetry, music and other stuff.

The blogs listed in this page are mainly used for announcements and bulletins of urgent matters which are not found in the other linked blogs.

The multiply page Suralista (http://www.lakadbulan.multiply.com/), can very well give one an overview of the Introduction. There one would find basically everything about Jimple: a view of his personal life, his passions, his opinions, his music, and his blogs on spirituality, literature and other various fields. From there you can move on to the blogger page Suralista (http://www.jimplejimple.blogspot.com/) where Jimple stores most of his poetry, or to Mahalnas na Upon(http://www.uponkanibalon.blogspot.com/), which contains his prose poems and short stories.

Karangahan: Pagranga sa Panurat Bikolnon (http://www.karangahan.multiply.com/) is an on-line Bikol Literary Journal which Jimple edits. The page is supported by the membership of Jimple's fellow ABKAT artists, where they contribute their Bikol works. For more information on the cultural group ABKAT, you can check out the organization's blog in these addresses http://www.abkat.multiply.com/ and http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=24646157657.

Aside from being a full-fledged author, Jimple is also a fulltime band leader of and composer for the band Krear Bathala and Bandang Jimple Borlagdan, his solo project. These bands earned a reputation in Albay and some parts of the region as the instigators of the Original Tabaknon Music. More stuff about these bands, including samples of their music and tons of photos can be accessed through http://www.krearbathala.multiply.com/ (Krear Bathala)

MY 2009 HARVEST

I was wrong to think that the highlight for this year would be the launching of my book "QUE LUGAR ESTE KAN DAYO SA SADIRING BANWA" last June 22, 2009. Ecstatic as I was, it never crossed my mind that it wouldn't be all for 2009, similarly I never thought I would be winning the two most coveted prizes for Bikol Literature, the Tomas Arejola Prizes for Poetry and Fiction. And the surprises never seem to end when on the very same night I was receiving the said prizes last September 29, 2009 I was named at the end of the occasion the 2009 Writer of the Year for Bikol. I never expected to receive such amount of honor in one night, and I have to admit it took a lot of work in humility to return to my old footing after that, but it has finally sunk in. I'm back in the world. I have received the awards, now it's time to return to the labor of writing which I will always love more than planting feathers on my cap. But before that here's a little monument for that milestone.

Here are my pictures for the 2009 Tomas Arejola Prize for Bikol Lierature held at Avenue Square Hotel, Naga City last September 29, 2009:

Here I am receiving the Grand Prize for Poetry with none other than National Artist for Literature and poet Virgilio Almario:
Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo handed me the Grand Prize for Fiction:

This one is a year ago at the 2008 Gawad Komisyon where I won Second place for Fiction. With me is First Placer Estelito Jacob.

"Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" by Jaime Jesus Borlagdan, new song for Krear Bathala. Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya means I offer my humble obeisances to Sri Krishna the Lord of the Universe

video

Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya

Gabos nagpuon
sa sarong hangos kan Dios
bilang Maha-Visnu.
Nakahigda sa dagat kan pagmukna
hali saiya an kagabsan namundag.

Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya
Gabos na paggalang pigdudulot ko Saiya.

Nakatukaw sa satuyang puso

Apat an kamot, Paramatma
Lotus, pamakol, sankarsana chakra
arikurong an kamot kan Kagurangnan
sa satuyang daghan

Namaste! Om namo bhagavate vasudevaya!
Gabos na paggalang pigdudulot ko Saiya.

Para linigon an kinaban
kan gabos na kabalbalan
nag-abot an Dios bilang Krishna
an totoo Niyang itsura,
daing sagkodan an kagayunan, kapangyarihan
kamurawayan!

Om namo bhagavate, om namo bhagavate....vasudevaya
Gabos na paggalang pigdudulot ko, gabos na pagkamuot pig-aatang ko
pigsasamba taka Sri Krishna!

"Sa Dios Sana" by Jaime Jesus Borlagdan, new song for Krear Bathala

Sa Dios Sana

Naglalakaw, ang tawong patal
sa tikong dalan, daing pakiaram.

Pighihibian an minsan na laogan
Dai aram na an laog an daing katapusan.

Piggigibong paraiso kan laman
An dagang ining sa hudyan satuyang babayaan.

Dai ka magsarig sa
igwang kasagkodan ta
sa hudyan dara kaan
dakulang kamunduan.

An gabos na may puon
sierto an pagkatapos
dai man ki minundag
na dai nagadan.

Sa Dios sana
an kaogmahan ta
makukua sa Dios sana

Nitai-Gaur Haribol
Sisay an dudumanan?
Haribol Nitai-Gaur Haribol
Sisay an raranihan?
Nitiyananda, Nityananda
Sisay an dudulukan?
Chaitanya, Chaitanya
Sisay an sasarigan?

Pag-abot kan kagadanan? Sa hudyan.
Sisay an hahagadan sa hudyan
sisay an makakatabang sa hudyan
pag-abot kan kagadanan, sa hudyan?

Kun saro-sarong nawawara an gabos?
Kun saro-sarong nagrarayo an gabos?
Sisay an sasarigan sa hudyan?

Oh, sa Dios sana makukua, an ogma.
Oh, an Dios sana an makakadapa satuya.
Sa satuyang kagadanan, sa hudyan.
